The unique “pleasure mountain” is located only half an hour away from Rijeka, 1000 m above sea level. Its pleasant temperature on hot summer days, in combination with the deep forest surroundings and peace, offer relaxation and enjoyment for all generations. Embark on an exploration of Platak with attractive and dynamic forest trails, a place where mainland and coastal climates collide, while forest expanses and meadows show a real wealth of vegetation.
After warming up on an asphalt road, you will climb along a gravel path to the top of Radeševo, the highest point on the bike route (1365 m). The greatest prize is certainly the view of the Risnjak, Snježnik and Guslica peaks, the entire Kvarner Bay and a unique ski trail overlooking the sea. Breathe in the clean mountain air, take a selfie at the top station of the cableway and then descend the tourist ski trail to the central car park. The second part of the route provides an easy and pleasant ride through the meadows and pastures of the Pribeniš valley, where you will encounter many horses and sheep grazing on the open plains. This is followed by a ride through the woods at the foot of rocky peaks, where your imagination will be piqued by the occasional game trail. A descent along a beautiful gravel road will take you to the Bile archaeological site at the foot of the Kuk peak, which will delight you with its views of Učka, the Kvarner islands, the Rijeka Bay and the Grobnik field. Through the Kripanj holiday village, you will reach the main road to Platak. End the last 5 km of asphalt road ascent in one of the catering facilities offering delicious local dishes and refreshing drinks.
